In a shocking announcement, Microsoft announced that they were the victim of a large-scale hack having been said to be perpetrated by Chinese hackers.

Bloomberg News reported on this issue stating that “A sophisticated attack on Microsoft Corporation’s widely used business email software is morphing into a global cybersecurity crisis, as hackers’ race to infect as many victims as possible before companies can secure their computer systems.

According to several sources, including Bloomberg, the Microsoft attack was perpetrated by a “ Chinese government-backed hacking group”. To date, this group of hackers is responsible for at least 60,000 hacks leaving a vast trail of victims. Bloomberg states that the victims of this attack and the approximately 60,000 perpetrated by this Chinese backed hacking group, “Many of them appear to be small or medium-sized businesses caught in a wide net the attackers cast as Microsoft worked to shut down the hack.” Synergy Infosec specializes in helping companies Whether a client is a one-person operation or an enterprise-level company.
